  • Timothy Lee Barber was born October 23, 1946 in Niles, MI to Lowel William and Bonnie Lou McCombs Barber. Tim died June 6, 2018 in Hot Springs Village, AR. He had 3 passions: golf, college football, and his family. Due to his degenerative nerve decease he invented the “bicycle seat cane” that let him compete in the MGA until 2016. He supported Phil Michelson, Notre Dame, And the Razorbacks.

    He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susan Bristol Barber, three children: Linda (Jim Vandergrift) Barber, Gerald, and James (Venessa Arnold) Barber. He has 7 grandchildren: Jason and Timothy Fuller, Jolene Lawrence, Breanna Arnold, Bryan Pruitt, Korey Garciaand Jace Masters Barber. Also survived by brothers Douglas, Russel (Penny Davis) and sister Teresa Trusner, Brother in law George (Rita Dutton) Bristol and sister in law Barbara Bristol. Tim is further survived by aunts Barbara Bright and Sandra Dahlenberg and uncles Rex McCombs and Dale and Earl Barber, many cousins and a wide circle of friends

    Donations in Tim’s name may be given to Heifer International, Timothy Halpin scholarship fund, St Viators High School Arlington Heights Illinois or Evans Scholars golf scholarships.

    So sorry to hear about the lose of cousin Tim. Growing up we hung around a lot. He was a couple of years older than me but think we were close when we young. As the years pass we drifted apart but think we were always in each others thoughts. My families thoughts and prayers are with his family.

    Sue and family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Tim had a smile that just lit up the room. He holds a special place in my heart. Prayers and thoughts are with you and your family at this time of sorrow.
